Connie Smalls is a retired newspaper journalist who has worked as a writer/editor for more than 30 years. Her journalism training began in the U.S. Army when she attended the Defense Information School at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana.
She has edited and written for three Army publications in Virginia: The Transport Times at the School Brigade at Fort Eustis, The Wheel, post newspaper at Fort Eustis, and Casemate, post newspaper at Fort Monroe.
She managed a rock band from Canada for several years and decided to put that experience in dealing with musicians, record producers and agents into a novel about murder, mystery and rock & roll.
The music business, long changed since the 1950s, 60s and 70s, finds band manager, Seb Moran, lead character in Smalls’ first novel, “Love Plays A Song,” gaining success with his band, “Solar Eclipse Band” as his personal life is shattered by Mafia threats, kidnapping and murder .
